Lately I’ve been obsessed with sunsets. I wander dense forests in search of the perfect light- glowing orange rays peeking through the trees. Watching the sky dim to yellows and reds makes me feel connected to the earth; almost as if I can feel the cycle of day to night seer through my body, just by taking the time to enjoy it.
I shot these photos of my beautiful friend, Amanda Jacobs, at sunset, and she was a wonderful sport. Amanda wore a gorgeous fur stole that she purchased on a road trip we took to Springfield Missouri, where we scoured local thrift stores for their best finds. I liked the contrast of her light blonde hair with the strong sun gleaming on her face. The light hit individual strands of hair just the way I wanted it to. Amanda is a wonderful model, and an even more wonderful friend. These photos make me very happy. I love you, Amanda!
You know those morning when you just wake up happy? That was today for me! The sun was pouring through my curtains, I listened to the Beatles while I got ready, I got lunch with my boyfriend, and after school, I hung out with my lovely friend Anna Longworth and dropped off an application at Sephora!
I felt really confident handing the manager my application in this blazer and my favorite plum lipstick from Sephora- I really hope I get the job! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

My sweet friend, Amanda Jacobs, knows how much I adore cupcakes. They are my absolute favorite treat! When I told her I was starting this blog, she bought me a cupcake from one of my favorite places in downtown Champaign, Cream & Flutter. She wrote me such a sweet note on the box. Thank you Amanda, for being so supportive of this blog!
I love to snack on something healthy in the middle of the day. I practice a lot of yoga at our local studio, Amara, and I’m obsessed with Cassy Ho’s workout videos (check out her YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates?feature=watch).
It feels great to stay fit and healthy, and I usually opt for a yummy pick-me-up like a yogurt parfait before a workout.
But today, I indulged! I tried the green tea frappaccino from Starbucks. There’s been a lot of research about green tea, suggesting that it can fight cancer, heart disease, lower cholesterol, and burn fat. What’s not to love?! You must try the frappaccino, it’s absolute heaven. I paired it with a piece of hazelnut coffee cake– yum! Off to a yoga class now, but here are some shots of my snack!
